Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, an Mexican American sportscaster. She works for ESPN and works as the SportsCenter News Anchor. She began her career at ESPN in the year of 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta was bilingual by when she was nine years old. It is this skill that allowed her to get her first role as a Univision producer assistant Miami. She was a producer for National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her first job was as a reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009, she relocated from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as an anchor for the newscast of The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking throughout Texas as well as Mexico. The station also frequently asked her to serve as an anchor for weather and sports. Later, she was anchor and reporter at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She was a reporter for all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she acted as anchor. The show was promoted to be a sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. They eventually moved to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She's older than her sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico to the US and eventually settled in Miami. They divorced shortly thereafter in 1995. Her mother was remarried to a naval architect known as Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. While on a trip with the family in Ohio, younger Collins had taken a position alongside her elder sister. As a senior in high school and yet with a clear idea about what she wanted to pursue with her life Antonietta went to the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her requirements. Then, she fell in love with the school. The university offered her the opportunity to study a major. Following the completion of her high school education, she attended the University to pursue media studies. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the director for WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was a member. Her professor, Mark Bergmann, inspired her by his love of journalism. Additionally, he profoundly influenced her.
