Ruth Roman was born on June 22nd, 1939, on June 22, 1939 in Lynn Massachusetts. Ruth Roman is the youngest child of Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline Gold & Abraham Roman. Ruth was a small child when her father, who worked as a carnival barker died. Her mother had to work in jobs like waitressing, cleaning and washing. Ruth was born in a poor area of Boston Massachusetts in which she went to the school. In the midst of only two years in school, Ruth left to pursue the acting career. This path was fraught with difficulties. After obtaining a position at New York as a model for a detective magazine, she found it difficult to get opportunities for stage. She then worked as a hat check girl at the nightclub before calling her quits and relocating to Boston. She was an usherette in the mornings and was a part of the New England Repertory Company by evening, her first acting position that was permanent. Her studies in drama led her to receive a degree from Bishop-Lee Theatre School.
